A bizarre moment marred the fights on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 62, an event held at the Maracanãzinho gym, in Rio de Janeiro, on Saturday night (21). In the second round of the fight, Herdy misjudged a position on the ground and stopped the fight when he believed that Dober had passed out from a chokehold that was, in fact, already disengaged. Even with the visible error, the result of the fight was confirmed, with Buscapé being named the winner by submission.

These events outraged the president of the UFC, Dana White, who posted angrily on Twitter: “Here’s a guy who should NEVER referee a fight again.” In the press conference after the event, White once again criticized the referee's decision, but stated that he will do everything to ensure that the fight is reversed to a no-contest. Furthermore, the manager guaranteed that he will pay Dober's salary as if the American had won the fight.

However, the preliminary card of the event was not only marked by bad moments. Leonardo Macarrão made a good debut in the lightweight division by defeating Cain Carrizosa in a busy fight; Kevin Souza ran over Katsunori Kikuno and got the knockout in the opening moments. Finally, Francisco Massaranduba, a highlight of TUF Brasil 1, dominated Akbarh Arreola and won another victory inside the Octagon.
