The fight was stopped in the third round. After another hip projection against the fence, Amanda ribas found herself trapped in an armbar position. Using her skill on the ground, Dern took advantage of the opportunity to land the sweep and transition to the mount. Santiago tried to pressure his opponent from the beginning of the fight, working his jab at the waistline and landing a good right to the chin during the first minutes of the round. After some difficult moments, Harris recovered and landed powerful overhands on the Argentine, who was knocked down twice at the end of the round.

In the second round, a seemingly recovered Santiago returned to the center of the octagon and began to invest in kicks to the calf, while Harris hurt his opponent with good punches to the body. The exchanges of blows became increasingly dangerous, with both athletes having interesting moments.

In the last five minutes of the fight, Santigao defended Harris' takedown attempts and punished his opponent with leg kicks and powerful jab and straight combinations. The Argentinean landed a violent sequence of straight punches in the final part of the round, hurting his opponent on several occasions and forcing the referee to end the fight at three minutes and 13 seconds of the third round.

In the interview inside the octagon, Carlston Harris praised his opponent, however, he stated that the interruption was premature. Ponzinibbio said he was happy with the performance, and expressed his desire to fight in Miami at UFC 314, in April.
