During a conversation with American journalist Mike Bohn, on the vehicle's YouTube channel, Bohn's cousin Khabib Nurmagomedov clarified the statement that generated several reactions last week. It is worth noting that neither of the two main fights of the UFC 311 have official reserves.
“No, I’m not training with an injury, I was already healthy when I started this camp and I had no problems when I trained – nothing. It was very good, a perfect training camp. I’m fine, I’m perfect – don’t worry. My arms are ready to crush,” he said.
The injury would have happened in Russia
Previously, Nurmagomedov had explained that the injury had occurred in Dagestan. According to him, the situation was so worrying that the Ultimate had contacted the athlete.
“After I was in Dagestan, I punched my arm, I showed it to the doctor. They didn’t do, like, an MRI, but when they looked at the bone, they did an X-ray and they said, ‘You broke it.’ My manager and my brother were like, ‘Are you crazy? You can’t fight like that,’ and they said no. They (UFC) asked me again, they called me again, ‘Are you going to fight Merab?’ Of course, I already called Ali and told him to make it happen,” the fighter said at the time.
