Gilbert Durinho returns to the octagon in a duel against a promising welterweight at UFC 314

Trying to get rid of the worst phase of his career, Gilbert Durinho already knows his next challenge in the Ultimate. The Brazilian welterweight (up to 77,1 kg) will face Ecuadorian prospect Michael Morales at UFC 314, an event scheduled for April 12 in Miami, United States. The information was initially released by 'Ag Fight'.

Former challenger for the category belt, Gilbert Durinho enters the action under pressure after three consecutive defeats against Belal Muhammad |, Jack Della Maddalena and most recently Sean brady, in September 2024. The Brazilian's last victory was in April 2023, over Jorge masvidal, precisely in Miami. Despite the bad phase, the Niteroi native still occupies the eighth place in the welterweight ranking.

Seeking a place in the top 10, Michael Morales is considered one of the main promises in the category. The Ecuadorian, only 25 years old, occupies the 12th position in the ranking and is undefeated in professional MMA with 17 victories in 17 fights, five of them in the UFC and the last one against the veteran Neil Magny, in August last year.
