Doping cases continue to hit the MMA world hard and the target this time was Bellator, the second largest organization today and the UFC's main rival. Former middleweight champion of the event, Russian Alexander Shlemenko was found in a test carried out after his victory over Melvin Manhoef at Bellator 133 with high testosterone levels.

Shlemenko also received a fine of US$2,5 (R$8,15, according to the current price) and was suspended by the California Athletic Commission, responsible for regulating the event. Furthermore, the Russian's triumph over Manhoef will be reversed in a No Contest (fight without result).
In addition to the former champion, another athlete was also caught in the post-fight exam at Bellator 133. This is the American Emilio Chavez, who was caught for using marijuana. As the substance is banned during the competition period, Chavez will receive a fine of US$100 (R$3260) plus the costs of the tests carried out and will be suspended for 30 days.
In recent months, a wave of doping cases has advanced in MMA, especially since the number of out-of-competition tests has intensified.
