The traditional Leixões Sport Club, founded in 1907 and which is going through a difficult phase in Portuguese football, will try to turn things around with the help of two Brazilians. One of them is the controversial MMA fighter Jaime Marcelo, who will join former football player Roberto Carlos in the project of taking the club back to the elite in Portugal.

From March 15th, administrative control of Leixões will be transferred to the company J. Winner, owned by the fighter. Jaime will be the club's new president, while Roberto Carlos will act as official ambassador.
Jaime Marcelo claims to have a record of 137 fights, with 135 wins and two losses, although few fights have photo or video proof. According to the fighter, most of these fights are not related to MMA, but rather to the “Real Fight” modality. Furthermore, Jaime says he was a trainer for some Hollywood celebrities, such as Cameron Diaz, which is widely questioned in the world of martial arts.
This behavior caused Jaime to receive a barrage of criticism from MMA fans, who severely dispute the veracity of his allegations. Due to the intense controversy over his resume, Marcelo was invited by Wallid Ismail to fight in Jungle Fight 39, in 2012, and ended up losing by technical knockout to Armando Polêmico.
Leixões Sport Club is currently in 17th place in the second division of the Portuguese championship, just seven points above the relegation zone, having lost three of its last four matches.
