Jamahal hill had his name mentioned unexpectedly during the week of UFC 309. In the midst of the debate about who Jon Jones would face next, if Tom aspinall or Alex Pereira, “Bones” surprised everyone by suggesting Hill, aka “Sweet Dreams,” as a possible opponent. Moved to have his name mentioned, Hill responded to Jones.
In an interview with Inside Fighting, Hill revealed that he was surprised and impacted by Jones mentioning him, especially since this has always been a fight he has wanted since joining the UFC.
“It impacted me. But people are weirded out by it… it’s like he challenged me?! You know what I mean? This is a fight I’ve wanted since I got here. That was the first name out of my mouth when they put a UFC camera in front of me. So for him to say that now, to me, shows that I’ve been doing the right things,” he said. Jamahal hill.
Hill focuses on Procházka before considering facing Jon Jones
Hill is currently focused on Jiří Procházka, who he will fight in the UFC 311, in January. However, he mentioned that he is considering moving up a weight class in the future, with a possible fight against Jon Jones in the heavyweight division.
“Yeah, that’s my plan eventually. I have some challenges here that I want to face, questions that I want to answer in this weight class, but yeah, eventually I want to move up in weight,” Hill revealed.
Jamahal hill became light heavyweight champion by winning Glover Teixeira in January 2023, but had to relinquish the title due to an ankle injury. The American returned to the title fight in UFC 300, against Alex Poatán, and it was knocked out in the first round.
