The night's card already has the fight for the featherweight title confirmed, between the Brazilian José Aldo e Conor McGregor, which, following the organization's conventional policy, should be moved to the co-main fight of the night, with MacDonald x Lawler, as it is a title fight in a heavier category, remaining as the main event.

For MacDonald, 25 years old, in addition to the chance to win the belt, the duel will also have the flavor of a rematch. In November 2013, the Canadian was defeated by Lawler in a split decision by the judges, which qualified the North American to face John hendricks for the title for the first time. In his career, Rory has a record of 18 wins and just two losses.

Yes, Robbie Lawler, 32 years old, has a record of 27 wins and eight losses. Voted “Athlete of the Year 2014”, the veteran won the welterweight belt in December last year by beating John hendricks at UFC 181. A trilogy between Hendricks and Lawler was expected, but the former champion gave up the number one contendership, which was passed on to MacDonald.
