The doping announcement Anderson Silva It forever changed the career of one of the greatest fighters of all time. At least that's what Firas Zahabi, coach of the Canadian, thinks Georges St Pierre, also considered one of the greatest in history.
According to the coach, the impact caused by the test, which detected the presence of the anabolic steroids drostanolone and androsterone in Spider's blood, will be similar to that of Lance Armstrong in 2012. The cyclist, considered a true example of the sport for overcoming cancer in his testicles and return to competing at a high level, he was also caught in tests for using anabolic steroids. He was stripped of all his titles and banned from the sport.

“(Doping) is horrible for sport. Lance Armstrong didn't help cycling. Many people were inspired by his story and later discovered it was a lie. We are going through something similar in our sport”, said Zahabi, in an interview with the newspaper La Presse. “It’s unbelievable that they let them fight. Personally, I would like the sport to be clean. Because one day a guy is going to die in the Octagon and we're going to find out that the guy who killed him tested positive after the fact. Our sport is dangerous enough as it is. If we add doping to this, it becomes crazy”, he added.
Firas Zahabi still made a point of removing Anderson Silva on the list of greatest MMA fighters of all time and place his pupil, Georges St Pierre, as the first on the list.
Georges is the best pound-for-pound fighter of all time. We have to get (Anderson) Silva out. If he really cheated, we cannot leave this example to the youth. It would be ridiculous. Is Lance Armstrong considered the best cyclist of all time? No! Few before, the answer would be different,” he concluded.
