Since last January 6th, when it was announced that he had been caught in an anti-doping test surprise for cocaine use, Jon Jones has occupied the headlines of the main MMA vehicles, and even the non-specialized press, for reasons that have no relation to his achievements as a professional fighter. On Wednesday night (21), however, the UFC light heavyweight champion returned to his normal training routine and made a point of releasing images of his first work after the controversial case of drug use.

“Working towards making this the best year of my life. Nothing will stop me. Don’t call it back, I’ve been here for years”, wrote the fighter along with the video, in which he appears doing light gauntlet work wearing a shirt from the Brazilian star and champion of three of the four editions of the UFC Royce gracie.

At 27, Jon Jones has a professional record of 21 wins and just one loss. Holding the absolute record for consecutive title defenses in the history of the light heavyweight category, with eight victories, Jones is just two victories away from the best overall record in this category, which belongs to the Brazilian Anderson Silva – with ten defenses. Current number one in the UFC's weight-for-pound rankings, Jones is coming off a victory over Daniel Cormier on January 3rd and awaits his next opponent, which comes from the duel between the Swedish Alexander Gustafson and the North American Anthony Johnson, who face each other this Saturday (24).
