After the fight, Shields still provoked Toquinho, once again insisting on the controversial topic of submissions that the Brazilian would hold for too long. “He (Toquinho) is holding the belt for me and I'm ready to finish him off. He's a dirty fighter, he's already broken everyone's leg and ankle, so I'm going to go in there and sort it out. I’m not afraid of him and I’m going to prove it”, he guaranteed.

At 36, Jake Shields has a record of 31 wins, seven losses, one draw and one fight without result. Already Rousimar Toquinho, 34 years old, has a record of 17 wins and five losses. There is still no official date for the title fight between Shields and Toquinho to take place.
