MMA veteran with stints in UFC and PFL, Sheymon Moraes announced last Monday (2) a 'crowdfunding' to raise funds to pay for emergency surgery for his six-year-old son Sheydon, diagnosed with a hemangioma, a benign vascular tumor, in his nose.
Em publication On his official Instagram profile, Sheymon explained that he took Sheydon to the doctor after his son had nosebleeds and a growth of a mass in the area. After a biopsy, a hemangioma was found in the area and surgery was needed to remove the tumor.

Because he lives in the United States and does not have health insurance, Sheymon would have to pay US$7500 (approximately R$42) for the procedure, in addition to the costs of post-operative treatment. Unable to deal with such a high cost, the athlete decided to open a 'online kitty' and collect donations from friends and followers.
The fundraising campaign was a success and quickly surpassed its goal of US$10 (approximately R$56,4). At the time of publication of this article, the 'kitty' had received 109 donations, totaling US$12.665 (approximately R$71,4). Among the main donors are names such as Brandon Moreno e Kelvin Gastelum, UFC athletes.
At 33 years of age, Sheymon Moraes has a professional record of 16 wins and six losses. The athlete from São Gonçalo, in Rio de Janeiro, competed in the UFC between 2017 and 2019 and in the PFL between 2021 and 2022. The Brazilian's last appearance was last Saturday (30), when he defeated TJ Brown in the United Fight League.
