Khalil Rountree's friend reveals he's shocked at the prospect of facing Alex Poatan in the UFC

The MMA community is still digesting the fight news between Alex Poatán e Khalil rountree for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg). The surprise, however, goes beyond the fans: close friends of the challenger were also surprised by the unexpected opportunity. The fight takes place at UFC 307, on October 5th.

Aaron Jeffrey, Rountree's former training partner and personal friend, revealed in an interview with 'MMA Canada' that he never imagined his friend would be so close to fighting for the title.

“Yeah, man. I didn’t expect that. I mean, I think Khalil is ranked and he’s been doing well, but I had no idea he was this close to a title shot, but I’m really happy for him, man. He’s a really nice, humble, kind guy. So it’s awesome to see that,” said Jeffrey, who faces Douglas lima this Friday (7).
