Victim of the great power of Sean O'Malley, aljamain sterling demonstrates that he has learned from mistakes made against his compatriot. Training partner of Merab Dvalishvili, the former champion is helping the Georgian prepare to fight for the title against 'Sugar' and guarantees that a strategy is being drawn up to confuse the skills of the current bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg).

“I think it’s going to come down to a game of patience. I think if Merab implements the same game plan that I used in the first round, just take it slow and let O’Malley make mistakes. He’s used to getting chased by people and he’s a very good counter-punching fighter, so don’t give him what he needs, which is the game plan for our fight,” Sterling said in an interview with Home of Fight.

As he continued speaking, the former champion recalled his performance Peter Munhoz in front of O'Malley and highlighted the work done by the Brazilian.

“So just talking to Merab, he already knows that these are the keys to victory. You watch him fight with Peter Munhoz, it's a very slow fight, not much happens if you don't give him what he wants and I think any analyst in the sport knows what he's good at, knows what he needs to be successful. If you take those tools away from him, he really doesn't have it, I don't want to say he doesn't have a lot, but we haven't seen that side of him. Having to be the aggressor when the opponent isn't hurt,” he concluded.
