Keeping an eye on the statement made by Alex Poatán, in which the Brazilian confirms his descent to middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) after defending his belt at UFC 307, on October 5, Dricus Du Plessis did not hesitate to send a message to his rival. On his social media, the South African took the opportunity to provoke the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) and Sean Strickland.
"Alex Poatán, you and your boyfriend Sean Strickland may have a domestic dispute over who sleeps first,” Dricus said on his official account. 'X' (old Twitter).

Expecting to fight for the belt in his next appearance, Strickland may have a conflict with Poatan's intentions, since the Brazilian is his friend and training partner. In a statement published by the São Paulo native, at no time was there any concern about a possible setback with Tarzan.
On the other hand, Du Plessis avoided saying that he will grant Strickland a rematch instead of defending his belt against Poatan next. The expectation is that the South African will only return in 2025, a time that would already be four months after the Brazilian's appearance in the octagon against Khail Rountree in UFC 307, on October 5th.
On his social media, Alex stated that regardless of the result of his next fight, the goal will be to win back the middleweight belt.
