At 38 years old and determined to get another chance at the belt, Gilbert Durinho recognizes that his time in the UFC is coming to an end after 10 years of electrifying appearances in the octagon. Buoyed by two consecutive losses, the Brazilian was honest when measuring how much time he still has to perform in the organization and guaranteed some performances before hanging up his gloves for good.
“I’m getting really old. 10 years in the UFC were really good, but I don’t know how much longer. (I) still have some fights left, so I won’t be here for long. I still think I have some good fights left, (but) not many. It’s not two handfuls of fights, but (we) still have at least a handful of fights left,” Durinho said in an interview with Grand City Media.

Currently ranked sixth in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg), Durinho is preparing to star in UFC Las Vegas 97, where he faces the North American prospect Sean brady. Scheduled to take place this Saturday (7), the confrontation could define the chances of the carioca once again getting closer to a possible duel against the category champion.
A veteran of the Ultimate Fighter, Gilbert is known for going through ups and downs in his career. A former title challenger, the Brazilian wasted the opportunity to become champion after being knocked out by Kamaru Usman. Since then, the athlete has been among the top 10 in the division, but continues to have difficulty reaching the desired position.
