The UFC has already started planning the main fights for event 186, which will take place on April 25th in Montreal, Canada. According to “UFC Tonight”, the official Ultimate program on the North American TV channel “FOX Sports”, the organization is studying a rematch between TJ Dillashaw e Renan Barao to be the highlight of the attraction, putting the UFC bantamweight belt at stake.

Dillashaw and Barão faced each other for the first time in May 2014, with the American surprising by stealing the belt from the Brazilian with a technical knockout. They would face each other again three months later, but Barão fell ill the day before the fight and was replaced by Joe Soto, who also lost with a technical knockout. The champion's next opponent would be Dominick Cruz, but the former champion was injured and is expected to be out of fights for a few months.

Another fight planned for UFC 186 would be between strikers boxing experts Quinton Rampage Jackson and Fábio Maldonado. The North American, UFC light heavyweight champion between 2007 and 2008, will make his return to the main MMA organization on the planet after a stint at Bellator, where he won three wins in three fights. Maldonado comes from four consecutive victories in the under-93 kg division, having lost quickly against Stipe Miocic, in combat carried out in the upper division.

However, “UFC Tonight” reported that the fights have not yet been finalized by the UFC – especially in the case of Rampage, who is still going through a legal fight with Bellator due to the breach of his contract.

UFC 186 will be Ultimate's first visit to Montreal since March 2013, when Georges St Pierre derrotou Nick Diaz to defend the welterweight belt. A few weeks ago, the UFC had already expressed its desire to schedule Rory McDonald x Hector Lombard for the event, although there is still no official confirmation.
