Division champion Dillashaw would face Dominick Cruz on an undefined date, but the former belt holder was injured again and will undergo surgery; Raphael Assunção, theoretically next in line, was also out of action with an ankle injury. Thus, White stated that he does not rule out a possible fight between the Team Alpha Male gym colleagues.

"It is possible. They made it very clear that they will face each other. Let's see what happens. I mean, it's not the plan nowadays, but it's definitely a fight I'd like to see”, said White, in an interview with the “UFC Tonight” program, on the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

Recently, Dillashaw clarified that he has no desire to face Faber in the Octagon. “I know it's something they will try to force to make happen, but I don't want to fight Urijah. It would be different if we only trained together a few times, but I spend every day at Alpha Male, so it would be very difficult to make that happen. The only reason I'm fighting is because of Urijah. He was the one who brought me to the sport”, explained Dillashaw, in an interview with the Canadian newspaper “The Province”.
