Pointed out as a great candidate for the featherweight throne (up to 65,7kg.) when he reigned in the UFC, Zabit Magomedsharipov left a big hole in his fans' expectations after suddenly retiring. When asked about looking for Ultimate to try to seduce him back into the octagon, the Russian was honest when revealing behind the scenes and stated that he had no intention of signing any contract.

“Yes, they do this from time to time, since I left the sport. Three or four times they got in touch. They wanted to have a meeting with me, they invited me to go to the United States, but I couldn't go. I know that, I can't promise them anything. So why should I go and meet with them?”, replied Zabit in an interview with Red Corner MMA.

"I? Well, sometimes yes. But I don't feel like it yet. I need the will to train and help my brothers”

Finally, the athlete assured that nothing is due to money or proposals, but rather to the desire to step into the Octagon again.

“No, not that. They promised me several things, but that's not the point. I just made up my mind, I don't want to prove anything to anyone. Go back, have a full preparation camp. I have no desire to go back and this is not about money. Whatever they offer me, I don’t think I’ll ever be fighting again,” she concluded.

Present in the UFC from 2017 to 2019, Zabit had six consecutive victories and was not defeated in any fight for the organization. Appointed as the favorite to become champion, the fighter announced his retirement after health problems and the desire to dedicate himself to the field of medicine. In his last appearance, the Russian overcame Calvin kattar, who had two consecutive victories.
