Brazilian breaks rivalry barrier and speaks out about Russian's hand injury

Charles of the Bronx left the rivalry aside and used his social networks to wish the Islam makhachev. The lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg.) faces a problem with his right hand that could take him out of the next UFC event in the United Arab Emirates.

“Makhachev, hey, man! I wish you a speedy recovery. Get well soon. God bless him”, wrote Do Bronx on his profile on X, formerly Twitter.

Makhachev, in an interview with 'Ushutayka', revealed that been dealing with an injury in the ligaments of his right hand since his last title defense against Dustin poirier. Surgery is a possibility, which casts doubt on his participation in the UFC 308, scheduled for October 26th.

Islam's injury reopens the discussion about the possibility of a rematch between the two fighters, who have already faced each other twice. In 2022, the Russian submitted Do Bronx with a katagatame in the second round. In 2023, the Brazilian was prevented from competing for the belt due to a deep cut on his eyebrow.
