Signed with Bellator at the beginning of the year, Michael Page suffered his first defeat in the Ultimate Octagon at the hands of Ian Gary, in a decision by the judges in the UFC 303. The Briton, however, was not so impressed with what he saw from the Irishman in the duel.

During a recent appearance on 'The MMA Hour', a podcast from the North American website 'MMA Fighting', the 'MVP' stated that he did not believe in Garry's chances of becoming welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg) and pointed out the champion Leon edwards and the Kazakh Shavkat Rakhmonov as capable of 'assassinating' the Irishman in the octagon.

“No, not at all (I see Garry becoming champion). If that's the game you're going to play when facing a decent striker, then Leon edwards will murder you in the same way. Shavkat Rakhmonov will murder you in the same way. There are some guys out there that I just don't see him getting over. He was a little more tactical and didn't feel massively strong. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, because he did his job, he was smart. But for me, this game is about fighting and not stealing victories,” he pointed out.

With the victory over Michael Page, Ian Gary He defended seventh place in the welterweight rankings and also had an unbeaten record in his career. The Irishman has a professional record of 15 wins in 15 fights, the last eight of which were in the UFC.
