A frightening scene marked the super middleweight title fight held by the World Boxing Council (WBC) last Thursday (6), in Quebec City, Canada. Evgeny Shvedenko was the victim of a brutal blow applied by Osleys Iglesias and worried spectators after hitting his head and struggling in reaction to the knockout.
In the images (see below), it is possible to follow the moment when Evgeny collapses after receiving the right hook. Falling down, the Ukrainian fighter starts to twitch involuntarily.

Upon realizing the situation, the referee intervenes in an attempt to calm Shvdenko. To the relief of those watching the 'horror scene', the athlete remained standing afterwards.
The stumble marked Evgeny's second defeat in 19 professional boxing fights. Before the setback, the Ukrainian had never suffered a knockout.
Representative of Cuba, Iglesias maintained his invincibility in the 'noble art'. The athlete accumulates 11 positive results in a row.
Of all the triumphs achieved in his career in professional boxing, Osleys achieved 10 knockouts. The athlete's only victory via judges' decision came in 2022, against Isaac Chilemba.
