In search of recovering from the delicate phase experienced in his career, Alexander Volkanovsky demonstrates that the UFC is still willing to invest in its future in the organization. Despite having been knocked out in his last two appearances, the Australian stated that his next fight will be for the world featherweight title (up to 65,7kg) today in the hands of his last tormentor Ilia Topuria.
“Obviously my next featherweight fight will be for the title. It's just time. I don't know exactly what the plans are, because I haven't pursued the UFC, I'm taking it easy. So I don't know if they have plans. But for a fact I know that my fight will be for the title”, declared Volkanovski in an interview with ESPN.

In a recent statement, the Australian was willing to fight at the last minute in UFC 303, if the Irish or North American have problems that prevent them from performing on June 29th.
Former champion of the under-65kg category, Volkanovski decided to step away from activities due to having suffered two knockouts in a row in a short period of time. According to the fighter, his body needs to rest to return 100% on his next moon for the organization.
