Even after all the controversy in which decreased Islam Makhachev and appointed Jon Jones As number one in the weight-for-pound rankings, Dana White kept his word and continued defending his thesis. “Volkanovski moved up a division and it was a very close fight the first time (against Islam makhachev). Jon Jones went up and decimated the biggest heavyweight there was (Cyryl Gane). If he doesn't try that shitty submission, Gane would win Francis Ngannou and would become heavyweight champion. Jon Jones passed by him as if he were nothing,” Dana said.

No UFC 302, held last Saturday (01), Islam makhachev finished Dustin poirier in the fifth round and defended the lightweight belt for the third consecutive time, a category record alongside Ben henderson e Khabib Nurmagomedov,

Currently ranked first in the weight-for-pound ranking, Islam is above Jon Jones and he could increase his legacy if he defends his belt in his next fight and sets himself apart as the record holder for defenses in the lightweight division. On the other hand, the North American expects to face Stipe Miocic in November, to remain on the throne of the category.
