Determined to seek confrontation against Charles of the Bronx in his next appearance, Mateusz gamrot avoids using means of provocation to challenge the Brazilian. Aware of the great skill that the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg.) has in grappling, the Pole stated in an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS who wants to test himself on the ground against the 'best'.
“I want to fight Charles because he is one of the best guys in the lightweight division. He's a legend. One of the most dangerous guys on the ground and I want to challenge the best in the world. I'm a wrestler, I have wrestling and jiu-jitsu in my heart. He's the best on the ground and I want to test myself against him. Another thing: I'm number five (in the category), he's number two. I think I deserve top 5 fighters and he is one of the ones I could fight,” said Gamrot.

Despite the tireless search for the opportunity, Gamrot adopted a sincere stance and declared that he understood Do Bronx's possible refusal about the confrontation.
“But we’ll see. I understand his position. He's been fighting in the UFC for a long time, he's fought against everyone in the lightweight division. He's giant. Certainly a catchweight for him would be difficult, so I understand his position of wanting to move up a division, but let’s see what happens,” he said.
Finally, the fifth placed in the lightweight rankings highlighted the importance of a victory over the Brazilian.
“My plan would be to be dancing on the floor. In my fights I take down my opponents. He loves to fight on the ground. I want to test myself against him, because his jiu-jitsu is the best. I know that if I beat him I can become champion,” he concluded.
Hungry for the opportunity to face Charles, the Pole needs to be able to convince the Brazilian to accept a confrontation. In recent speeches, Do Bronx stated that he does not intend to accept fights against athletes who are behind their position in the rankings and also left open a possible move to welterweight (77,1kg.) in the future. The Brazilian currently occupies second place in the lightweight division.
