Alex Poatan projects date of possible return to UFC

In an interview with the official Ultimate channel, the Brazilian idol expressed his desire to defend the belt again next August

Just two months after knocking out Jamahal hill and defend the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg) for the first time, Alex Poatán He can't wait to return to the octagon. In an interview with Ultimate's official YouTube channel, the Brazilian idol said he was still recovering from a broken toe but expressed his desire to fight again in August this year.

“I want to fight in August. August, but we are still negotiating. Let's see, I think it will work. Coming back, right? After breaking both fingers. For kicking, I haven't kicked yet, but I think next week I'll be doing some training, some contacts, kicking, at least a punching bag. Return slowly. I'm talking about August, so there's a good amount of time to recover and prepare my body. That’s it,” said Poatan.

Current light heavyweight champion, Poatan successfully defended the belt for the first time in history UFC 300, held on April 13th. With the triumph, the pupil of Glover Teixeira joined the select group of athletes who have reigned in two different weight divisions in the organization. At 36 years old, Alex has an MMA record of 10 triumphs and just two setbacks.
