Punishments in sight
At the press conference after the TUF 20 Finale, UFC president Dana White did not hide his dissatisfaction with the constant injuries caused by illegal blows, such as a finger to the eye. The manager demanded that athletes who engage in this type of behavior receive a harsher punishment.
“I don't know what to do about eye pokes other than asking the referees to tell the fighters to close their hands. If you hit a guy in the eye, you have to lose the round or something like that. The punishments need to be harsher, and this will make the fighters keep their hands closed”, argued Dana.
