the performance of Anthony Pettis against Gilbert Melendez at UFC 181, last Saturday (6), left MMA fans impressed. Even without fighting for over a year, the lightweight champion managed to defend his title with authority, becoming the first to defeat Melendez without needing the judges' decision.

And Pettis believes he is only beginning to amaze the world with his skills. “I'm 27 years old and I feel like I'm just starting to enter my prime,” he said, in an interview with the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.
The lightweight champion hopes to make his second defense soon, precisely to make up for the long period he was away, between August 2013 and December 2014. “I want to return to fighting as soon as possible. It's still too early to talk about it, but I want to fight as soon as possible. I won't be able to build my legacy without fighting more often. I’ve already lost a whole year of my career,” he commented.
