With the Diaz family on the scene, it is possible to guarantee that things will go anything but normally. The first-born Nick, next opponent of Anderson Silva, was even removed from a title fight for not attending events on the official agenda, but his younger brother Nate inaugurated a new category of negligence, associated with one of the most sincere justifications in history. This Wednesday (10), the lightweight did not show up for open training at UFC on FOX 13, an event in which he will face the Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos, and blamed the bed for his absence.

“I didn't realize what time I was supposed to be here. I woke up and they (the UFC) were calling me and saying, 'You kind of missed open training.' I overslept. I wish I could have arrived in time, but I couldn't. I had a list of UFC things, but I arrived late, I woke up this morning and looked at it”, said the authentic Nate, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Junkie”.

After the controversy has passed and the event on Saturday (13) is guaranteed, Diaz believes that a victory over Rafael dos Anjos, currently number three in the rankings, can stamp his passport towards a title fight. “Rafael is in third place, so I should fight him and see what will happen. My goal is to face Anthony Pettis. He just fought my teammate (Gilbert Melendez, at UFC 181) and now it's my turn. I have a goal here. I'm impressed that he beat Gilbert. But I'm going after this son of a bitch. Now I'm going to fight and I'm going to catch this guy. Whether it’s today or tomorrow, he will be caught”, he promised.

This Saturday (13), if you don't sleep again and miss the event time, Nate diaz faces Rafael dos Anjos in the co-main fight of UFC on FOX 13, in Phoenix (USA). In the main fight of the night, the former heavyweight champion Junior Gypsy faces the North American of Croatian descent Stipe Miocic.
