As is traditional for all new UFC champions, Robbie Lawler made his debut in the pound-for-pound rankings in the first update after his title, achieved with the victory over John hendricks last Saturday (06). Lawler is now 11th on the list that does not take weight categories into account, just one position ahead of Hendricks.

Lawler's arrival and Hendricks' subsequent fall benefited the Brazilian Renan Barao, which gained a position with the changes and now occupies tenth place. The former middleweight champion Anderson Silva saw the muse Ronda Rousey overtook him and fell to eighth place.

Another important change in the official ranking was the arrival of the Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov to first place in the lightweight category. Even without fighting, Khabib, who is seen as the favorite for the next title fight in the category, was favored by the defeat of Gilbert Melendez, now the second, to Anthony Pettis in Las Vegas (USA).

Among the Brazilians, despite not having taken action last weekend, Thales leites and John Lineker gained one position each in the middleweight and flyweight categories, respectively. Thales is now 11th and Lineker is in sixth place.
