UFC 181, held last Saturday (6), in Las Vegas (USA), crowned a new champion and consolidated another. Robbie Lawler derrotou John hendricks in a tight decision by the judges to take the victory and win the welterweight belt, while Anthony Pettis he claimed another victim by submitting Gilbert Melendez in the second round.

Lawler and Hendricks fought another tight battle, similar to what happened in the first meeting between the two, in March of this year. The fight had good moments for both sides, but, after 25 minutes of competition, the judges decided, in a divided manner, to give victory to the challenger. Pettis, in turn, survived an intense first round from Melendez and pulled out a guillotine choke in the second period, submitting his rival and retaining his title.

However, it wasn't just in the title fights that UFC 181 stood out. Travis Browne ran over Brendan Schaub among the heavyweights, with Todd Duffee returning in style and overcoming Anthony Hamilton. Urijah faber he struggled and controversially beat Francisco Rivera, while Josh Samman had one of the most exciting moments of the night when he knocked out Eddie Gordon. The event also saw the victory of Anthony Pettis, Sergio, who beat Matt Hobar in the judges' decision.
