Last Saturday (06), Francisco Rivera suffered his second consecutive defeat when he was submitted by Urijah faber in the fight that closed the UFC 181 preliminary card. The setback, however, came after the North American was hit in the eye by his rival's finger. Claiming that the illegal hit was decisive in the final result, Rivera has already made it clear that he plans to appeal to the Nevada Athletic Commission, which regulated the event at Mandalay Bay.

The information was released by American journalist Marc Raymond, who said he had been informed of the appeal by Rivera in conversation with the athlete's team. In addition to the appeal, “Cisco”, as he is known, is also seeking a rematch against Faber, as he made clear in a post on social media. “It’s the hardest thing to watch over and over again. I hope to get a rematch. UFC, I wish we could have kept fighting. This is unfortunate,” he posted.
