Victorious at UFC 300, Jiri Prochazka aims for 'revenge' against Alex Poatan: 'I'm going to achieve this'

A few hours before Alex Poatán defend the light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg) with a knockout over Jamahal hill in the main fight of UFC 300, Jiri Prochazka knocked down Aleksandar rakic on the preliminary card of the event and was taking an important step towards a possible rematch against the Brazilian, his tormentor in November of last year.

In an interview with YouTuber 'The Schmo', Prochazka, who in addition to the victory took home one of the bonuses of US$ 300 thousand (approximately R$ 1,5 million), commented on Poatan's victory over Hill and expressed his interest in “ revenge” on the Brazilian.

“I saw his (Poatan) performance. It was amazing. And I have to say that I'm starting to take this seriously now. It's something I want to do, I want to win this victory. When I want something, I get it. So keep an eye on me”, promised the Czech.

Alex Poatán e Jiri Prochazka faced each other for the vacant light heavyweight belt in UFC 295, in November last year. On that occasion, the Brazilian scored a knockout in the second round. The Czech, however, guarantees that he knows the way to dethrone the champion and regain the belt.

“I need to evolve some things in my game so I don't take some punches and create a perfect storm. But Alex knows that, even in New York, even in his city, he understands that I have the keys to winning this fight. (…) For me the most important thing now is to improve in training, taking tonight's experience to the next fight, as soon as possible. I’m still learning to connect my violence and hunting instinct with mastery and technique all in one,” he said.
