Victim of Du Plessis and Adesanya, Whittaker reveals bold guess for possible fight between executioners

With the possibility of confrontation between the former executioners, Dricus Du Plessis e Israel adesanya, Robert whittaker named his favorite in the fight for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg.). In an interview with 'MMArcade', the Australian made the experience of sharing the Octagon with both of them worthwhile. For the veteran, the champion must maintain his position.

“It’s an interesting fight. I can see Adesanya dominating for five rounds, but Dricus is very tough. I can also see Dricus making the fight complicated. We saw when Adesanya faced (Sean) Strickland, with Strickland pressing, occupying spaces and changing the pace of the confrontation. Adesanya didn't adapt well. I believe that if Dricus does the same, he can be successful,” said Whittaker.

Two-time middleweight champion, Adesanya's second reign ended in 2023. At the time, the Nigerian was largely dominated by Sean Strickland, promoting one of the biggest upsets in UFC history.

New title holder, Du Plessis wore the belt at the beginning of 2024. Today, the South African awaits confirmation of his first challenger.
