the fight of Alexander Volkov No. UFC 302, scheduled for June 1, was canceled by Dana White and suffered a unexpected change of opponent. The Brazilian Jailton Malhadinho, who had signed a contract for the fight, saw his plans being frustrated by a decision by the organization.
The turnaround took not only Malhadinho's team by surprise, which is looking for a new opponent, but also Volkov himself. The Russian's coach, Taras Kiyashko, revealed new details of the negotiation.

According to him, the shock was due to a change in the card of the UFC ParisWhere Sergei Pavlovich was originally scheduled to face Cyryl Gane. The new rival, however, ended up taking the Brazilian's place in the fight against Volkov.
Malhadinho's future
The change of opponents raises questions about the behind-the-scenes of the decision. Kiyashko, in an interview with Vestnik MMA, questioned the logic behind the change, in addition to highlighting that Volkov had signed a contract to face Malhadinho, who could now be responsible for starring in the UFC Paris with Gane.
Despite the turnaround, Alexander Volkov remains confident for the fight against Pavlovich, which takes place on June 22nd. The experienced Russian, with 47 fights (37 victories and ten setbacks) in his career, has been enjoying three consecutive victories in the octagon.
Jailton, in turn, is awaiting the definition of a new opponent to resume his winning streak in the UFC.
