At UFC Atlantic City, which takes place this Saturday (30), the veteran Chris Weidman will try to maintain an excellent record of his career. In seven fights against Brazilian athletes as an MMA professional, the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) suffered only one defeat, to Ronaldo Jacare in 2018. Remember in retrospect the 'positive balance' of the 'All-American' against Brazilian fighters.

Weidman's first duel against Brazilians took place in December 2010, at the 'Ring Of Combat' event. The 'All-American' beat Tupiniquin Igor Araújo in a unanimous decision and won the event's middleweight belt. With the triumph, Chris was hired by Ultimate and had his next fight in the biggest MMA organization in the world.

After three consecutive victories in Ultimate, Weidman was placed face to face with the former middleweight challenger Demian Maia and emerged victorious once again in the judges' unanimous decision, maintaining his unbeaten record in his career.

Between July 2013 and May 2015, Chris experienced the best moment of his career when he won the UFC middleweight belt and beat four Brazilian fighters in a row: Anderson Silva (twice), Lyoto Machida e Vitor belfort. His reputation as an executioner of Tupiniquin athletes was finally consolidated.

In November 2018, Weidman's first (and only) defeat to Brazilian athletes came. At UFC 230, Ray Longo's pupil was knocked out by the jiu-jitsu legend Ronaldo Jacare in the third round and lost his unbeaten record against fighters born in the 'tropical country'.

Next Saturday (30), at UFC Altantic City, Weidman will step into the octagon again to try to maintain his good record against Brazilian fighters. This time, his rival will be from Paraíba Bruno Blindado which is also going through a delicate moment in the organization.
