Poatan x Prochazka referee comments on the decision to interrupt the fight and responds to criticism

Chosen as referee for a duel between Alex Poatán e Jiri Prochazka No. UFC 295, Marc Goddard opened the game and commented on criticism received in his career. Responsible for a controversial decision in the fight valid for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg.) by declaring a technical knockout in favor of the Brazilian, the veteran denied regret for his attitude.

“It’s part of my job, unfortunately. As a referee, sometimes your decisions will please one side of the room and irritate the other half. I'm extremely comfortable (with the decision in the Poatan x Prochazka fight). I have nothing but respect for Jiri. I really like Alex, I know what he’s capable of”, said Marc in an interview with 'Mixx Sports Media'.

Despite the controversy, Prochazka stated at the time that he was not angry with the referee's decision and defended the protection received by Marc Goddard, in order to avoid unnecessary blows. At the time, the Czech returned from a serious shoulder injury and was looking to return to the category title. The interruption occurred in the second round of the confrontation.

Seeking revenge, Prochazka promises to go after Poatan if he wins in his next fight.
