In search of returning to the path of victories, Bruno Blindado stated that he was surprised by Ultimate's stance after suffering two consecutive setbacks. Still shaken by the last defeat, the Brazilian revealed that all plans were changed after the businessman revealed a proposal to face Chris Weidman at UFC Atlantic City, this Saturday (30).
In an exclusive interview to SUPER FIGHTS, Bruno told how he felt when he received a call from Bernardo Serale, his manager.
“(After the last defeat) I called my manager and said that I needed some time, that I wasn't well, that I didn't feel like training and I didn't want to go back now (…), 20 days passed, a month and I thought : 'it's not fair that I end up like this, for everything I've done in my career and in sport, for the people I've helped, it's not fair' (…) I went to the gym on the 2nd (January) and the phone rang and it was Bernardo asked if I was near the bathroom, he said that because he already knows I'm anxious, that's poor. And then he said: 'Armored, an important fight for you, on March 30th, against Chris Weidman”, said Blindado.

As he continued speaking, the Brazilian explained his surprise at the invitation he had received.
“In my head I thought: 'I'm coming off two defeats, it wasn't a good performance in Abu Dhabi. (I thought) the UFC is going to send a guy who is arriving now and the Chris Weidman' (…) if the UFC is putting me with the Chris Weidman, two situations: firstly, Weidman wouldn't want to fight just anyone. He won't want to fight a guy who came in now and didn't win anything. Second, if the UFC called me, it's because somehow they see me differently. Whether it's like a champion or a badass, I don't know. I know that in some way they like me. I want to repay that by putting on a big show and turning off the Chris Weidman”He concluded.

Scheduled for the main card of the event, Weidman and Blindado will face each other this Saturday (30) at UFC Atlantic City. Currently, the Brazilian is considered a big favorite for the confrontation.
