Dana decides Jones' future and opens the door for Aspinall to defend interim heavyweight title

President says he wants to watch the North American face Stipe Miocic next and allows the Englishman to make decisions about the future

Amidst great expectations for the future of the UFC's heavyweight category (up to 120,2kg), Dana White opened up and spoke about the possible commitments of Jon Jones e Tom aspinall. Irreducible about the North American's next step, the president stated that the plan is to make 'Bones' x Stipe Miocic for the linear title and opened the door for the Englishman to defend the interim belt.

“Jones is called up to face Stipe. I'm rooting for the winner of this fight to face Tom (Aspinall). Now it's March, Jon Jones and Stipe, who knows when it will happen because of (Jones') surgery. If Tom wants to defend the (interim) title, we will definitely do that”, said Dana in an interview with TNT Sports.

Looking to return to the octagon, Aspinall accepted the challenge of Curtis blaydes to take revenge on the organization. Despite the verbal agreement between the athletes, Dana has not commented on what she thinks about it.

Despite wanting to play Jones or Miocic x Aspinall, the president of the organization needs to count on the commitment of the North American and Croatian, after both did not rule out possible retirement after the clash for the category title. The expectation is that the fight will take place after 'Bones' has fully recovered from shoulder surgery.
