O oktagon MMA 55, held last Saturday (23), in Germany, was the scene of a brutal battle between Jacinta Austin and Karolina Wójcik, valid for the women's strawweight (up to 52,1kg).

Despite Austin's unanimous victory after three rounds, what caught the most attention was the state in which Wójcik ended the fight: with a huge “hole” in his forehead, the result of an elbow received during the confrontation.

Austin's dominance over the Polish woman was evident from the beginning of the fight. The North American connected hard and precise blows, punishing her opponent with jabs, straight shots and elbows. Wójcik, in turn, showed bravery and resistance, but could do little to contain her rival's momentum.

In the third round, the brutality of the fight reached its peak. In a moment of intense exchange of blows, Jacinta landed a well-aimed elbow on Karolina's forehead and opened a deep, bloody cut. The Polish woman was still a warrior and continued until the end. No doctor was called to investigate the situation while the clash was going on.

After analysis, the doctor decided to end the fight, declaring Austin's victory by unanimous decision by the judges. Wójcik, with her face bloodied and her forehead with an impressive “hole”, was taken to the hospital to receive medical attention.
