The defeat for Alex Poatán seems to have not yet been very well digested by Jiri Prochazka. Almost five months after the knockout suffered at the hands of the Brazilian in a fight for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg), the former champion once again justified the setback.
In an interview with 'Inside Fighting', Prochazka once again said that he was 'controlling the fight' against Poatan until he 'made a small mistake' which resulted in the Brazilian's knockout.

“I need to keep the whole fight in my hands, every detail. Every detail, every little step in the octagon, everything. Until the moment of the knockout, I was controlling the fight. It was my mistake, it was a small mistake, but in this game there is no room for these small mistakes. That’s why I’m evolving in these little things: to be the best”, pointed out the Czech.
Alex Poatán puts the title at stake for the first time in history UFC 300, on April 13th, against another former champion of the category: Jamahal hill. In Prochazka's opinion, there are more weapons for this fight on the North American's side, but the Brazilian can benefit from a longer fight.
“I think there are more weapons for this fight on the side of Jamahal hill. Jamahal hill You'll have better chances at the beginning of the fight. If the fight develops, there are more chances, as I saw, for Pereira. Let’s see, may the best win”, declared the former champion.
Jiri Prochazka returns to the Octagon the same night that Alex Poatán defends the belt against Jamahal hill. The Czech closes the preliminary card of the UFC 300 in a clash against the Austrian Aleksandar rakic.
