The duel between Brazilian newcomers in the UFC Las Vegas 89 ended with a very unusual ending. During the second round, Igor Severino had a blackout and bit his rival and compatriot André Mascote. The referee interrupted the confrontation and, after seeing the frightening mark on the Bahian's arm, immediately disqualified his opponent.
With the victory, André starts off on the right foot in the organization and maintains his unbeaten record in MMA, now with eight consecutive victories.

With a lot of energy, Igor started the duel aggressively, working his combinations well and hitting his rival in the face. Soon after, Severino took Lima down and tried to take his back but his rival defended his position well. Surprising his opponent, André pulled Igor into his guard and attempted a guillotine but also failed.
The two fighters returned to the center of the cage and Lima landed a beautiful elbow that rocked Igor. Showing good striking, both wingers embraced the frank striking and had a spectacular first round.
In the first seconds of the new round, the two fighters returned to intense exchanges. With more force, Igor landed more blows on his rival, working well with crosses, elbows and making a quick transition to the takedown. Halfway through the round, Lima accused his rival of biting him and the referee had to stop the fight.
The referee called the medical team and disqualified Igor Severino, declaring André Mascote's victory.
