Captained by the defense of the belt of Alexandre pantoja against Steve Erceg and reinforced with the return of José Aldo of retirement, the UFC 301, in Rio de Janeiro, can also receive an extremely important reinforcement: Alex Poatán. At least that's what the former Strikeforce champion and former UFC lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) says Josh thomson.
During a recent edition of the 'WEIGHING IN' podcast, Thomson pointed to a possible clause in Poatan's contract for the fight against Jamahal hill No. UFC 300 which would require participation in the Rio de Janeiro event if it passes the North American unharmed.

“I also heard that if Alex Pereira gets past Jamahal (Hill) in 300, he wants to be on that card (UFC 301). Apparently it was part of the contract negotiations. If he wins and comes out healthy, he will be able to fight on that card. Apparently this was part of the deal to fight in UFC 300”, revealed Thomson.
Light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg), Alex Poatán will make the first defense of his belt in the main fight of UFC 300, on April 13, in Las Vegas, against the former champion Jamahal hill. If Thomson's prediction is confirmed, the Brazilian would have less than a month to prepare and return to the octagon on May 4th, at UFC 301, in Rio de Janeiro.
