Main coach of Conor McGregor, John Kavanagh showed indignation and blasted the UFC board for the lack of commitments from his main pupil. In an interview with 'MMA fighting', the coach reacted negatively to the absence of the company's former double champion in the events already confirmed by the organization. The Irish star has not competed since the serious injury he suffered in 2021.

“I’m not going to pretend that I know the policies and what happens behind the scenes, with the legal issues. What I do know is that I find it strange that we don't have any updates. (…) McGregor's manager, Audie Attar and his team, have been talking to Hunter Campbell (responsible for negotiating UFC fights) and his team. It’s strange that we have a star who hasn’t been given opportunities,” said Kavanagh.

On that occasion, the Irishman ended up suffering a serious injury, which resulted in his second defeat to the North American that same season.

One of the coaches of 'The Ultimate Fighter' (TUF) 31, Conor has a verbal agreement to face Michael chandler, the second protagonist of the latest edition of the 'reality show'. The challenge, which was stipulated to take place in 2023, remains without confirmation from the UFC.
