Tom Aspinall opens up about his chances of facing Jon Jones after meeting and clashing with the MMA icon

Interim UFC heavyweight champion speaks out after meeting with title holder

After meeting with Jon Jones, complete with staring Tom aspinall vented about the chance to face the lineal heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) in the UFC. Holder of the interim title, the Englishman showed pessimism and admitted to writing his own history in Ultimate. In an interview with Michael Bisping, the fighter spoke about the subject.

“I think I’m going to make my own legacy. I'm not going to wait for something that won't happen. Don't want to do like Michael chandler, sitting around waiting for something that won’t come,” said Aspinall.

MMA legend, Jones won the linear heavyweight title in early 2023. Close to his first belt defense, the champion, who he would face Stipe Miocic At the end of the season, he suffered a serious shoulder injury and is still recovering from the injury today.

With Jon's absence, Aspinall assumed the interim throne after overcoming Sergei Pavlovich. Now, the Englishman awaits the UFC's decision on the next step in his career.
