Nate Diaz puts rivalry aside, surprises and sends message of support to Conor McGregor

Recent statements from Conor McGregor, who blames the UFC for the constant postponements of his return to the octagon, generated empathy and solidarity for an unlikely name: Nate diaz, one of the great rivals of the Irishman’s career.

In a social media post last Sunday (17), Diaz expressed support for McGregor and started a campaign for the Irishman to be released from his contract with Ultimate.

“That was me for years before Conor even got here. They want you to die before you get out of these contracts. It's up to you to make something happen. No one can help you but you. Freedom for Conor. It’s Saint Patrick’s Day in this sh*t”, wrote the ‘bad boy’.

Nate diaz experienced a situation relatively similar to that of Conor McGregor. When he only had one fight left on his contract with the UFC, the American had difficulty getting a fight booked by the organization. As for Conor McGregor, the reason that prevents him from returning to the competition is still unclear. While the Irishman blames the UFC, Dana White defends himself by stating that the former champion's wealth and schedule, who recently finished filming a film in Hollywood, are the main factors delaying his return until then.
