Ovince St. Preux massacres Shogun in just 34 seconds

He couldn't even get out. Mauricio Shogun tried to recover inside Utimate, but Ovince St Preux he didn't take notice of one of the greatest light heavyweights in history and sank the Brazilian. In just 34 seconds, the fighter of Haitian descent knocked out the Curitiba native and silenced the Tupiniquim fans. The fight was the main attraction of UFC Fight Night 56, an event held in the early hours of this Sunday (09), in Uberlândia, in the interior of Minas Gerais.

The fight

Mauricio Shogun arrived in Uberlândia as the main attraction of the event. Former light heavyweight champion, the Brazilian was trying to find his way back into the division, as he had lost three in four fights. During the week promoting the fight, Shogun promised to go in search of the knockout, but it was precisely because of his aggressiveness that he was caught in the counterattack.

In the first movements of the duel, Shogun walked forward, releasing boxing blows. But knowing the Brazilian's knockout power, Ovince St Preux he dodged sideways and connected with a left cross. Mauricio felt it and went to the ground.

From then on, several punches were landed on the Brazilian's face until the referee declared a technical knockout, shutting down the gym in Triângulo Mineiro.

Warlley starts well, gets tired and gets choked at the end

TUF Brazil 3 Champion, Warlley alves suffered against Alan Jouban. The fighter from Minas Gerais started with everything, connected a sequence of blows, took down his rival and was close to the submission with a guillotine in less than 30 seconds of fight. However, the North American asserted his granite chin, withstood the punishment and stayed in the fight. From this moment on and the overwhelming start, the Brazilian got tired.

At the end of the first round, Jouban was already connecting the best blows and Warlley was unable to land his attacks. In the second round, the pace of the fight slowed. Alves tried to take down Jouban to recover, but was unable to keep his rival on the ground for long. When he returned to the stand-up contest, the American landed a few blows, while Warlley was already showing even more fatigue.

In the third round the Brazilian came back more aggressive, but ended up receiving a low kick. With time to recover, he was able to rest a little more and return more aggressive. Jouban also looked for the attack, and hit it from close range. In the final minutes, Alves felt tired again and the American went on the attack and put the TUF Brazil champion in complicated situations until the bell sounded.

At the end of 15 minutes, victory for Warlley alves in the unanimous decision of the judges with a triple 29×28.
