One of the most important referees in the history of MMA, John McCarthy was yet another to make heavy criticism to the boxing duel between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', 'Big John' recalled the boxing legend's advanced age and made no secret of his hope that this fight would not happen.

"I love Mike Tyson. I don't care how good condition you are as a 57-year-old, almost 58-year-old man, but when that fight happens, you can't maintain conditioning. Whatever happens, it takes you forever to recover. When he gets in that ring, he's going to get tired. He will get tired much faster than he ever would based on his age. Yes, he will have some power, but he doesn't have the speed to deliver that power to the target in the same way. I look at this and I'm ashamed of everyone for this whole thing. I hope this fight doesn't happen”, said 'Big John'.
