Former strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk is named to the UFC Hall of Fame

One of the greatest athletes in the history of women's MMA, the Polish woman was honored by the organization and is now part of the gallery of 'Sport Immortals'

One of the greatest fighters in the history of women's MMA has earned her definitive place in the gallery of 'Immortals of Sport'. During the UFC 299, which took place last Saturday (09), Ultimate announced the appointment of the Polish and former strawweight champion (up to 52,2kg) to the organization's Hall of Fame in the 'Modern Era' wing.

A UFC athlete between 2014 and 2022, Joanna holds great records in the organization, including being the first European and Polish woman to become Ultimate champion and also holding the record for the highest number of consecutive title defenses in the strawweight division, with six reign maintenances.

In her eight years in the UFC, Joanna won 10 victories and suffered five defeats and was strawweight champion between 2015 and 2017. Among the Polish woman's victims are names such as Carla esparza, Claudia gadelha e Jessica Stacker. Jedrzejczyk also starred in one of the biggest women's fights of all time, against the Chinese Weili Zhang in March 2020, a duel that ended in victory for the Asian fighter in a controversial split decision by the judges.
