After nailing that I would never face Tom aspinall in the UFC, Jon Jones appears to have changed his mind about his future in MMA. Applauded by fans after a recent public appearance, the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) reflected on his posture and stated that he cannot 'just walk away'. According to the athlete, his future in sport depends on how he will perform in front of Stipe Miocic.
“I'm really going to rely on how I perform against Stipe to see if I'll continue competing or not. But the fight against Tom (Aspinall) is definitely not off the table. Especially with me feeling the way I do. I feel totally refreshed and reenergized being around the fans. So I don't think I can just leave. The ball is rolling positively in the direction of me continuing with my career”, declared Jones in an interview with 'Submission Radio'.

Victim of several challenges made by Aspinall, Jones remained firm in his decision to prioritize confrontations that made sense in his career. At the time, the champion even belittled the Englishman's trajectory, questioning what addition the duel would give to his own legacy.
In the process of recovering after having shoulder surgery, 'Bones' went back and for the first time showed himself willing to face the interim champion of the division. So far, Aspinall has not commented on the sports icon's speech.
